Dwight and Rocky went on many hunting trips with Lonnie Jeffs during their youth. The lion was taken by Dwight from the Pilot Mountain Range on the Pequop Ranch near where Lonnie shot two lions eleven years earlier. Lonnie Jeffs and Johnny Tybo are now gone, but not forgotten.
Gene Robinson, an old friend of Dwight's, is now sadly gone, but not forgotten.
In 1956, Dick Hall moved to Elko County, NV, where he became the lion hunter for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and hunted mountain lions throughout the state. Hall and his trained dogs were called upon when marauding cougars caused problems by killing livestock. Hall also participated for several years in a winter mountain lion research tagging program with the NV Dept.of Wildlife.

Tagged lion #21 was responsible for killing 18 lambs at Corta Livestock, in Jiggs, Nevada, in 1977 until Dick Hall was dispatched to the scene.
These cubs were sent to a new home in a Salt Lake City zoo.
